Biography

Matt Swiss is a New Jersey-based conductor, composer, educator, and multi-instrumentalist who works to make music both accessible and engaging.

Currently, Matt serves as the Director of Choral Activities at Randolph High School. Under his direction, the RHS choirs have performed on national television and at festivals along the East Coast, with students regularly placing in Region, All-State, and All-Eastern honor choirs. A passionate advocate for youth music education, his guest conducting engagements include the 2022 All North Jersey Treble Chorus and the 2026 Morris Area Honor Middle School Choir.

Beyond the classroom, Matt is an active composer and arranger writing functional, engaging works for the choral market. He is also a frequent collaborative pianist and guest organist throughout Northern New Jersey, having previously served as music director for St. Matthew the Apostle Parish and Bernardsville United Methodist Church. His theatrical work includes serving as music director, keyboard, and conductor in community theater, high school and collegiate settings.

Matt holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Messiah University and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Moravian University.
